<p><strong>From Chaos to Calm: Why Behavior Modification Doesn’t Work with Our Kids, and What Does</strong><br />
A two part online training series conducted by Juli Alvarado</p>
<p>Bringing back the joy in parenting!<br />
Through the lens of mindful and trauma sensitive care, we will explore the attachment challenged child’s view of the world, life, love, family and relationships. We will find answers to the questions; ‘why does my child do what she does?’, ‘how can I more effectively engage with my child?’, and ‘how do I maintain my sanity while doing so?’</p>
<p>Other topics that will be briefly explored:</p>
<ul>
<li>The impact of shame in healing</li>
<li>Brain based restoration of emotional regulation</li>
<li>Sensory based interactions that bring healing</li>

<p><em><strong>Healing Trauma in Families Part 1: Definitions, Scope of the Issues and Family Assessment</strong></em></p>
<p>Thursday, June 16th and Thursday, June 23rd from 7:30pm – 9:00 pm, <strong>Central Time</strong></p>
<p>Online training with a focus for professionals conducted by <strong>Lois A Ehrmann, PhD, LPC, NCC.</strong> All are welcome.</p>
<p>This 90 minute webinar is part one of two webinars focused on the healing of trauma in families. Part one focuses on a unified definition of trauma and reviews the DSM-5 criteria for PTSD in both adults and children. The origins of trauma are explored in a discussion of the Adverse Childhood Experiences longitudinal study and then the importance of comprehensive and effective assessment of all family members is discussed. Tools for assessing different family members and family dynamics are further presented. Learning objectives of this webinar follow:</p>
<p>By the completions of this webinar participants will have:</p>
<ol>
<li>Identified at least three criteria of the new DSM-5 diagnosis of PTSD.</li>
<li>Identified at least three negative outcomes in adults stemming from adverse childhood experiences.</li>
<li>Reviewed at least three paper and pencil measures that are effective in the diagnosis of trauma within families.</li>
</ol>
